    Salutations, dA folks!

    No, I ain't dead! Actually, I am alive and kicking, sometimes quite violently.

    I've been EMPLOYED. OMG! It's true! EMPLOYED!

    By a game development company, no less!

    Anyway! I've been as busy as a busy thing, but I thought I'd drop in an say hi. (Hi!). Also I thought there are some AMAZING artists on my flist, so some of you might be interested in the following art competition (seeing as how it's, like, Christmas Vacation 'n all.).

    The COMPETITION

    Iron Grip has released a new story-driven blog called Iron Grip Shards [link] about two characters from its popular fictional universe. To celebrate, we are running an Art Competition! The rules are simple - create an illustration of the opening scenes from Beryl or Lisetta's story, and submit it to us by January 5th.

    The first place winner will receive $300 into a paypal account (if you don't have paypal, we'll send you amazon vouchers instead). Five runner-ups will receive a $20 Amazon voucher.

    To submit your entries, please email a LINK to your image to suzie@isotx.com with the subject line IRON GRIP SHARDS ART COMPETITION, or send a note via the dA system with a link to the appropriate deviation.

    All artwork will go into our gallery, with a link to your website or dA page. The best artwork will be used to illustrate our blog entries!

    We'll also be keeping an eye out for amazing talent to commission on a regular basis - so this isn't just an art competition, it might be your ticket into the business!

    So I buy a subscription and then I fall of the face of the earth...
    So yeah. I am back home. My fiancee lost his job, so visa application type stuff ground to a dead halt. I am now working part time in a supermarket, getting up at 5.30am to bake bread...

    I am also trying to win $75 in a writing competition, have been paid £120 for a website, and have started writing adverts in a vain attempt to pay off my overdraft and disgustingly huge medical bill.

    I have a few colours I've done for pro companies, and I'll try and get them up here.

    Also done some life drawing, which is awesome, and I shall also upload those when I get a chance to edit them into a montage or something.

    Photographs this month are by ~fairytale-nightmare. I'm a sucker for macro, and I'm a sucker for flowers, plants, water drops, and pretty things.

    This journal features some art. The way journal features work is; they give underappreciated artists some picture views and maybe some comments. To make this feature work, I would REALLY appreciate it if everybody took five minutes just to leave a comment or two :) Features are down the page.

    Getting an apartment is a pain in the ass, and we're running out of time. And money. If anyone wants to commission me, now would be a really good time for it ;P

    In other news... there is no news.

    I've been on a dA spazz attack the last couple of days, commenting on THOUSANDS of art-type things. I also somehow wound up watching 78 people... luckily most of them are pretty inactive o.o The forum bugs the crap out of me, it's so... so.... emo. Shallow. Soundbitey. And full of knee-jerk reactions and opinions.

    In terms of my dA there is a WHOLE LOT of new scraps. Also moved some older gallery pieces over into scraps. I don't have a lot of work to show, considering I've been here since 2003.

    I probably won't be uploading many more photos. I'm not an 'art' photographer. My pictures are strictly 2 second snapshots, and sometimes I get lucky. I don't think art is about 2 second lucky breaks, and I don't want to distract from truly great photographers work by filling their gallery up with junk. (Sort of like I hate that the anime gallery is filled up with 2 minute doodles from math class)

    If I ever get a decent camera, and take a course or something, I'll probably open a seperate account for that. Which is something I eventually want to do, but there is a whole lot of shit that needs to get done first.
